Overall facilities were clean and came with dehumidifier, which is important for hotel selection in Taiwan, and shoes dryer. Decoration gave a cozy and comfort feeling.
Friendly and english with bit of japanese spoken staffs.
Simple yet delicious breakfast, a combination Taiwanese and American. Dining area can overlook the ocean.

I would have rated this a 10 for stay if it was just a tad easier to locate. In saying that, once the property was located, the location was perfect. Host was lovely and highly recommend this place. A very cosy, clean and comfortable stay.

If you don't like crowded areas, Jiufen is not for you.
If you don't like crowded areas, Jiufen is not for you. The Jiufen old street is so narrow that you can only take some few mini steps at a time. If you were to come here, I'd suggest you to book your stay in Jiufen for the night, come in the late afternoon, perhaps go on the night walking tour, and then enjoy the views and Jiufen Old street in the early morning before all of the tourists come flooding in.

We went to Jiufen in January (winter time).
We went to Jiufen in January (winter time). As malaysians, we immensly enjoyed the milder temperatures and the lack of rain during this time, considering we came form a hot, humid country with torrential rain on a daily basis.
So, our timing for visiting Jiufen was perfect for us. Jiufen can be quite crowded at times but our stay at night made all the difference. less crowd, magical red lights and the night market was amazing. It was famous for the Amei teahouse but i think Jiufen is more than that. To find gems in other things, I'd recommend staying in Jiufen overnight.

The village is absolutely charming, only need one night here. In the evening it gets very busy but the teahouse (Jiufen teahouse) was very quiet. Lots of interesting food to try. Incredible views. Lots of hiking trails nearby. Easy to get a bus from Taipei there and back (and cheap) - you just tap on and tap off with your card.

As I strolled through the winding narrow lanes, surrounded by souvenir shops, traditional snacks, sweet treats, and Taiwanese cuisine restaurants, I found myself immersed in the charm of an old market perched atop the mountain with a breathtaking view of the bay on the north coast.
The bustling market came alive, especially during the late weekend mornings when the narrow lanes echoed with the footsteps of tourists. To savor the experience without the crowd, I recommend arriving early and soaking in the authentic atmosphere.
A must-try activity is settling into a cozy terrace seat, sipping on aromatic oolong tea while gazing out at the panoramic beauty of the bay area. The tranquility of the moment adds a touch of serenity to the vibrant surroundings.
Accessing this hidden gem is surprisingly easy via public transport. Opt for a bus from Ruifang train station or downtown Taipei, Zhongli train station, making the journey convenient and delightful. With just an hour's travel from downtown Taipei, this mountain-top market promises a memorable escape from the bustling city life, offering a perfect blend of culture, cuisine, and scenic beauty.

Jiufen was fantastic.
Jiufen was fantastic. If you come to Taiwan and hear about the old streets and food market, this is the best combo of both worlds on all accounts. Parking is an issue, so I highly recommend you Uber or bus or get dropped off. If you do find parking, it can be expensive, but driving in the area is a little tight, but it is doable. Many hotels in area will make you use that parking and then have to lug your luggage up many flights of stairs. If that’s the case, pack light. But if there’s one thing you do in Taiwan, this is it.
The room is very spacious, very very best view! The staff is very nice and warm, feel so touch when touch down at the hotel although it is raining heavily. Really thumbs up for the hotel, too bad too rush and not able enjoy the environment in the hotel. Definitely i will come back again! Location very easy to find, just a little bit far from JiuFen Old Street, although can climb staircase to reach, but we just opt for the bus and reach there within 2min🤣 when back time we only take the staircase to back hotel
I like owner and room. The owner is so kind helpful and friendly. She gave me a handmade Jiufen old street map. (I guessed she did it, so nice.) And suggested me the travel route.
Here is very close to Jiufen Old Street (far from 7-11 about 20 maters. You can spend your time at the street as much as you can.
The room is tiny but good for me. Anyway the stairs was narrow and doesn't have elevator.
Anyway I like this place and on the top floor you can see Juifen view at night. It's so good.
Although I didn't have much time to explore the area, this was by far the best place I've ever stayed. The Stay is located very near to Jiufen Old Street but in a quite and cozy area. The owners are extremely nice and make lots of great suggestions for things to do in and around Jiufen. They also helped me book a night tour of Jiufen.
The breakfast was delicious and I got fresh taiwanese fruits every day. I really felt taken care of! Thank you for this wonderful time!
It's situated at the highest point of Jiufen, the 3rd floor is the tallest vantage point of the entire Jiufen available for homestay. The amenities and furnishings are as deluxe as any 5 star hotel that I've stayed in before (and I have travelled a lot). The best part is the alfresco table and chairs which allows you to have a cold drink at night or a hot coffee in the morning looking at the sunrise 🌅.
Did I say that the bed was fantastic too? It's Simmons!
Homely breakfast cooked and served by owners. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Exceeded expectation. Location was great, just off Jiufen Old Street (located closer to the top of the street). Lovely morning views while eating breakfast. Close to popular Ah-Mei Teahouse too for those seeking to try it out.
Close to jiufen old street. Clean and friendly staff. Shared facility is very clean and scenic. Staff helped book at taxi for early check out.
I highly recommend taking a taxi to this hotel as you’ll have to walk up stairs if you come in by bus.
The location might be a little far away from Jiufen Old street but close to many hidden places to explore on the mountain area. Very peaceful and refreshing. The amenities are well prepared so we had a pleasant stay here without any inconvenience.
1) The view from the room was great when it comes to sunset. It's like a painting.
2) The location was near to the JiuFen Street.
3) The staff was kind and helpful
4) The breakfast was decent
5) There is a parking space for those who drive there
The B&B location was great, a 10 minute walk from Jiufen Old street, so it was nice and quiet. The room was very spacious, and had nice big windows with a great view of the city and water. The breakfast was very filling, and tasty.
It was conveniently located close to the bus stop from Ruifang Station, and Convenience store, Jiufen Old Street.
The owner of the inn was very flexible and I was able to communicate almost via LINE.
The inn is located right above jiufen old street which is very convenient. Less than 5mins walk to my favourite 阿柑姨芋圆. Not forgetting the incredible view they have from the shared dinning area too.
Excellent, Enjoyed our trip in jiufen with a nice view n good stay location. Hotel very clean and tidy. No need buy international plugs because hotel already provided international plugs with USB.
Adorable hotel right on top of Jiufen old street. The rooms and common areas are tastefully decorated and even though our room was small it was very comfortable with everything you could want.
The location is excellent right by the spot (maybe 3 min to the entrance to Jiufen). The host is so nice. Her homemade breakfast is yummy! We enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend!
